Boxes and Page Tabs Changed on Facebook Pages

This week Facebook started implementing a few changes that affect the appearance of profiles and pages. According to Facebook, "These updates are designed to simplify navigation for users, reduce complexity for developers, and enable us to build the next generation of tools for growing your business with Facebook." Here are the new changes:
The Change: Goodbye Boxes.
The "Boxes" tab and custom boxes in the left-hand column (underneath your profile picture) will be removed. (Note: As of today, August 26, existing boxes on Facebook pages I am an administrator of are still showing up. However, it does appear that you cannot add a new box to the left-hand column anymore.)
If you have an FBML box in your Facebook page's left column, you can change the settings of the box so that it displays on a custom tab instead of in the left column. To do this:
- Click on "Edit Page" (underneath your profile picture) on your Facebook page.
- Then click on "Application Settings" in the FBML Application box.
- On the window that appears:

Click on "remove" to remove this Box from the left column. And click on "add" to create a new Tab with this info. Then click the "Okay" button.
The Change: Narrower Pages in Tabs.
All profile and page tabs have been resized from 760 pixels wide to 520 pixels pixels wide. If you have created a custom tab - and have graphics or styling larger than 520 pixels, you will need to reduce them to fit within the smaller width.
